Weekend Adventures and Happy Birthday Grandma Cathi and Cousin Coleman!

It was a hot weekend so Coop was definitely excited when I asked if he wanted to do some fountain splashing.  We went to Georgetown Waterfront Park...it was amazing!

Check out that water boy!

It was a nice day for us all to get in on the fun!

Dad and Sammy

We dried off very quickly and headed into Georgetown for some lunch.  I think I took this exact picture of Dad and Cooper 2 years ago when we were here.  Have to dig it up!

Seriously beautiful

Then we found a train park similar to our beloved one in Raleigh.  Complete with wonderful playground and a riding train!  So fun!

These Bacon boys can eat some pizza, Sam no big D, 'za, trains, smiles...oh and crayons.  Right when we got to the table he kept saying, "I color, I color"!

Coop loves him some pizza as well, many times it is all he will ask for.

Seriously!?!?!  So freakin' cute!

Sunday was spent at the Baltimore National Aquarium...WOW!  This was so much fun and was one of the best ones I have ever been to.  Coop was soooo excited to be there.

We spent a lot of time here and got a year membership that I know will be put to use!

After the aquarium, Sam asleep in Dadda's arms, Coop running around still!  Great weekend!

First few weeks here

We have really been soaking up some sun and fun

Coop and Sam dig the spray place in town...added bonus you ask?  Right next to the library and the park.

We have been to the zoo twice

both times on unbelieveably hot days so we stayed cool with some popsicles,

and the mist fans.

But we are loving it!

This is our new playroom!

We spent a great afternoon at the Marine Corps Museum.  This is us walking through a helicopter.  Picture is worth a thousand words.  Sam not so happy, Coop LOVING it!

What a ham.

And last weekend we enjoyed some popsicles on The Mall before headed to the Museum Of Natural History.

Safe to say we are loving it here in DC

Love Coop and Sam

Same story different city!

Our drive from Chapel Hill to DC was not a long one but boy did it feel like one...Coop entertained himself (and Sammy) with books and Daddy's helmet.

Sam, not so happy to be here.

We have mastered how to get into our 'new house'.  I think Cooper thinks we are going to live in a hotel forever!

But, we have finally found a place and it was time to enjoy this amazing place!  First stop, the Air and Space Museum on the Mall

We are doing well, loving the metro, and getting ready to move into our place soon!

A stop at the Mall is not complete without a ride on the carousel.  Terry and I were reminiscing about Cooper melting down a couple of years ago on this same carousel...this time it was Sammy's turn.

Washington Monument under construction

Coop and Sam enjoying the river front

Fast forward 20+ years...our boy, Captain Cooper

We found many wonderful parks here...one on every other block

GREAT libraries for days

And the real bosses of the Bacon family...we went from being OK looking at houses to flat out refusing at the end of our week long search...what a week!

But we are all smiles now...well almost!

Sam still misses NC

Love, Us

Last Week in Chapel Hill

Sam polishes off his last $1.50 Waffle Cone Wednesday deal...love it!

We also spent some time at one of our favorite parks in Raleigh~Pullen Park.  Big hit is always the train...

the boats,

and the carousel.  We will definitely miss this place!

On Memorial Day, we went to a couple Civil War Re-enactments...no big d!

We spent a day at Duke Gardens,

and time out on the water in a paddle boat!  Cooper LOVED it!

Sam not so much, little dude did not like his life jacket at all!

But all was well when we ended our day at the observation area at the airport!

Coop wolfing down some 'za

And hotel cartoon watching...we will miss this place!
