Big Weekend

Wow, what a great weekend we had! We felt very adventurous as we packed up our little man and headed up North. We spent Friday at Muir Woods just north of San Francisco with a quick photo stop at the Golden Gate Bridge and then on to Muir Woods. It was beautiful! The Redwoods were so unbelievable and we were in awe as we spent the afternoon hiking and entertaining our boy. Cooper did amazing in his baby carrier and we were amazed at how much bigger he looked in it and how much more in control of his body he was.

Here he is taking in the sites with daddy and mommy.

We then took off to Yosemite for camping....so much fun! We had a great time, learned a lot about camping with a little guy and made plans for visiting as many National Parks as possible in the next year. We are definitely going to take this kid on more camping trips!

The scenery was just amazing and we absolutely loved being in nature sharing it with each other and with Cooper. We know he will not remember it, but we have tons of pictures that will document his time there. And you know we are very serious about taking pictures (280 to be exact!).

Our favorite parts:

-Cooper in his 'Max' outfit sitting by the fire
-Watching Cooper take in sites like Giant Redwood and Sequoia trees
-Cooper deciding to wait until day 2 of our camping to poop THREE times before noon
-being with family and just loving it
-May Lake in Yosemite
-the beauty of Yosemite and how it looked as if the mountains were just cut away, enough to allow the beauty of this place to be preserved and appreciated
-SMORES (I love 'em)

Ready for company!

Hi!
We have been busy getting ourselves organized and into a routine here in Monterey. Sorry about not posting in awhile. It is so beautiful here, we are loving being so near the beach and in such a moderate climate, not to mention getting our little Cooper-Bean back on a "schedule". It was not easy being in the same room with him for the days we were in transit...his schedule was literally our schedule and often times Ter and I would be huddled over the computer at around 7pm when he went down for the night! But he is adjusting like a trooper and enjoying this beautiful area!
Speaking of the little man-cub, he just had his 6 month well baby appointment and he is officially 19lbs 15 ounces, 75th percentile, 27 1/2 inches. Terry was betting that he was at least 22 pounds and I guessed 19, 6. I think we were both just relieved to have those horrible two, four and six month shots over with! Cooper took these last ones like a champ, crying for about 3 minutes and then hugging on Daddy. What a champion he is!

We are especially excited that our place here in Monterey has 4 bedrooms...plenty of room for company! We have the space, almost have the grill and the beach is just steps away! Hope to see you all out here so soon.

Love Kris, Ter and Coop

Officially 6 months old

For my 6 month birthday, Mom and Dad took me to Santa Cruz. I even got a new toy, Sophie the Giraffe, to help with my teeth that are almost ready to come in. The doctor said my gums are swollen so I think that means I am going to give mom and dad some long nights! Hope to see everyone soon!

Coop and Scoot

Ridin' Along, Ridin' Along...

Coop's first day in Monterey...a little colder here.

Live in the 831!

Cooper was upset when we first arrived in town. It was a day of extremes for him. The first picture depicts him with Mom at a rest stop, 20 minutes east of Paso Robles and it was 100 degrees. Coop did not like it that hot. Then we arrived, it was dark, misty and 50 degrees. He wanted to pack up and head back to SD. The remaining pictures are him out and about with mom and dad in between house hunting. He likes it here in Monterey a lot better now.
